Is this a "Stay to Play" Event?No, you may make your own arrangements to stay in beach rentals or another hotel that we do not offer. If your  plans are to stay in a hotel, Please check our discounted rates with CSTT.

If our team wants to stay in a  beach area, what do you recommend?
For home rentals, we recommend, Pacific  Beach or Mission Beach. You will be about 20-25 minutes away from any of our parks.
Take a look at the map below on this page, this will give you an idea of distances between where you might stay relative to the fields. 

What is there to do in San Diego?

There are a lot of sites to visit, You will not have time to visit them all, so maybe narrow it down to three or four.  
San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park Museums, Coronado Beach, La Jolla Beach, Mission and Pacific Beach Board Walk, Wild Animal Park, Petco Park,  Midway Aircraft Carrier, Historical Downtown Gaslamp Area and San Diego Old Town. 

Do we need to qualify to play in this event?

Check with your state director, some will require that you play in one of there events to qualify. 

Is this an Open Roster event?
Yes, If you are a registered USSSA Team and need  to expand your roster, you may do so by adding up to five "Write In Players"
The "Write In Player/s" can be from a frozen roster. If you are team that does not play USSSA or from another country, your roster may consist of any players that are legal age.

Will there be separate divisions (Major's, AAA, AA)?
Playoff divisions will be paired into three or more divisions if needed. (Gold, Silver, Bronze)
In pool play, for example, if  you are a AAA team, you may play one or two Major teams or vice versa. 
AA Teams would not play a Majors team. 

What is the tournament format?
You will play a minimum of 5 games, 4 pool games into a single elimination playoff bracket. Some teams will play 6 or more. 
Pool games will be played Wednesday through Friday, playoffs begin on Saturday, Semi Finals and Championship games will be 
played on Sunday. 

How late will the games go on Championship day?
Our goal is to complete the tournament by 6:00 PM on Sunday July 28th.  

Can we request game times?
Only teams that are from out of the area can request game times, but they are not guaranteed. Most out of town or out of state teams request early games, so that they can enjoy the sites and attractions. With San Diego being a vacation destination, we will do everything we can to see that you enjoy other fun things to do besides baseball.

Is there Opening  Day Ceremonies?

Opening Day Ceremonies will take place on July 23, at the Santee Sportsplex, beginning at 10:00 AM and ending roughly around 2:00PM
There will be a team parade, skills contests and baseball equipment vendors. This will also be the place and time for teams to "check in" there rosters. 

Will there be a Petco Park on field march around?

There are plans in place for a march around prior to the Padres vs. Giants game on Saturday, July 27. 
More details will be  posted in April. 

What fields are being used for this event?

We have secured the following fields for this event from the beginning to the end.
Sportsplex Poway, Sportsplex Santee, Sweetwater Sports Complex (Bonita), Lakeside Sports Complex, Tidelands Park Coronado, Mater Dei HS, Grossmont HS, West Hills HS. This being a San Diego event, we strongly feel that you should play your games no more the 30 minutes from downtown San Diego.
