Joe a San Diego native, organized his first and San Diego's first youth travel baseball world series under BPA in 2007 and was the San Diego Director for USTBA, USTSA and XDS from
Joe served on the Sweetwater Little League Board for 19 years from 1994 - 2013 and served on the design and planning
committee for the present facility.
In 2008 Joe became the founder of West Coast Umpires Association, for the purpose of developing tournament umpires. Joe has attended four professional umpire clinics and is a coordinator for an annual professional umpire clinic in San Diego.
He currently serves on San Diego County's Baseball Umpire Association's board and umpires high school and college baseball.
Joe has been Involved with youth baseball and girls fastpitch tournaments for over nineteen years and has promoted and organized eleven world series events in San Diego.
Although passionate about baseball, Joe loves to play golf and enjoy the great outdoors.
Jim was born and raised in San Diego. A graduate from Morse High, he entered the Navy and served in the Submarine Forces, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After his Honorable Discharge, he attended the University of Hawaii graduating class of 1976 and soon after became a research analyst in the Senate and House of Representatives for Hawaii's State Legislature. He returned to San Diego with his wife Marilyn to raise a family.
In San Diego, Jim began his career in private banking with several major banks specializing in trusts and estates, simultaneously being the San Diego Director for USSSA (United States Slo Pitch Softball Association). After leaving the bank business 10 years later, he joined Sportsplex USA as Vice President/Manager where he currently holds the position at the Santee branch, overseeing the operations of league and tournament events for the company.
Jim has over 25 years of experience hosting baseball, softball, and beach volleyball tournaments and leagues. Presently he is also the San Diego director for the California Beach Volleyball Association. His two children Kimo and Pua were San Diego high school Players of the Year for volleyball, and went on to continue their successful collegiate careers at the University of Hawaii and Rutgers University respectively.
He spends his free time traveling to Hawaii four times a year to visit his two young grandchildren and play golf twice a week. He is currently "Living the Life".
